urban, a Pianist and
bassist, began his
musical
career in 1997
after booking
some local clubs and restaurants in
the NJ area. During
this time period, Todd attended William Paterson University to
pursue a study in Music Mgmt. and Jazz Performance. As a student, he
sustained an injury to his hands from misuse while
performing.
In order to overcome this challenge, and continue
his musical career, a classical study of piano and all stringed
instruments was essential. Top professors, such as Linda McKnight
(bass), Oscar Ravina (violin) Chaim Zemach (cello), and Gary
Kirkpatrick (piano), provided him with classical instruction.
Eventually, Todd was able to recover with the aid of oriental
medicine and the use of
the Alexander technique.

Upon graduating from William
Paterson University, as part of
their
honors track and with
the
encouragement from his mentor, Linda
McKnight, he continued his study of Music Education. Then, to
further his ability of integrating the body into musical
performance, he briefly left home for Charleston, SC to attend
the Southeastern School of Neuromuscular Therapy. Todd also
expanded his horizons by observing the playing style of local
musicians.
Todd is now based in Brooklyn, NY and
continues to provide high quality service to his clientele.
